I have really been wrestling with something for a while, then things came to me today as I sat in church. During this time of COVID19 and so much political stress there has been a drift within the church. When I say the ‘church’ I mean the people of God.
It seems like the enemy had a ‘wanted’ sign and now Jesus is holding up a ‘missing’ sign. I say this because so many have made themselves a resource to the enemy’s working. Never in my life have I seen such a turning away from the people of God. Turning away from hope, the things of God, and a desire for the truth. Now there is a pulling towards all the things that the enemy wants to instill.
I had a vision in my head of a girl who was at peace and holding tight to her bible. Meanwhile other Christians were coming at her with ridicule, trying to put down in her head, and pull her bible away. They wanted her to take a second look at what they were broadcasting. They want her to know that she has something to worry about. “You need to be aware of …..” Her response to everything they said was routed back to the word of God. They hurled insults at her and laughed. They were throwing media at her. They were unfolding images of political pictures/jokes. She told them that they are choosing to prescribe to a wavering faith, but she choose to hold tight to God’s truths. Their splashing of doubt, or tugging at her bible was not going to cause her to stumble in her faith.
Do people realize that there is nothing that they will be able to say to challenge God’s word. Why are people of faith sharing things to decrease faith in Christ?
In a conversation I had with a fellow Christian recently they said to me “Oh my gosh, I don’t want to hear it.” They would rather my outlook be affected by their worldly outlook. They are allowing everything going on around them to be all they see. They aren’t putting God first by sharing the worldly perspectives. There was a time when so many believed that nothing was too big for our God. Well that hasn’t changed for me.
The pulling away of people didn’t come overnight. While God used this time of isolation to bring some closer to him, Satan slowly used this to pull into his direction in his deceitful ways. It starts with a little doubt, then a little impatience. All of as sudden you share one post that wouldn’t be very glorifying to God. Little by little it becomes a weekly thing, then a daily thing, then before you know it this very person who was sharing YouTube videos, bible verses, and used to be a warrior for Christ is now someone people are blocking because they just don’t want to see anymore. They slowly began to laugh at some jokes about covid or the election that they might not have before. They then start laughing at Christians who have kept their faith strong, because they are frustrated with God for taking too long to fix things with this pandemic.
It’s NOT wrong to believe God more than Fox news, or what the Press Secretary says, or what someone is tweeting on Twitter. A carnal mindset will put it’s focus on the world instead of what God says. It focuses on current events. The gradual process the enemy takes to control minds, eventually works as an opposing force against other people of God.
Why are so many risking and jeopardizing the relationship they have with God? Or with other believers? They are allowing Satan to spread darkness, and fear. If you didn’t see this post – you better look at this one.
I have literally went through some Facebook walls and people are putting 20 posts up a day with media posts. We need to wake up. We need to start rebuking the work that the enemy wants to do through us. Close the door, turn the page, and begin by deleting all the garbage we’ve allowed him to put out there through us. No one can go back, but moving forward you can make a change.
Ask God – does this glorify you? Does this point people to you? What is my purpose? Who benefits from this post? Will this cause others to have more faith in Christ? OR Will it place doubt and potentially create some fear?
